PREBIOTICS

PREBIOTICS

Prebiotics are non-degradable substances (oligosaccharides) that serve as food for beneficial microorganisms that normally live in the intestines, as well as for the strains taken with a probiotic product.

Prebiotics help support the normal growth and activity of beneficial bacteria in the gut1.* They maintain the balance of intestinal bacteria, nourishing selectively good bacteria strains that flourish when sources of food and energy are abundant. Supreme Probiotic contains a prebiotic blend of three types of oligosaccharides - FOS, XOS and MOS - specially selected to meet the needs of the 14 different probiotic strains included in our formula and supporting their survival, replication, and growth.

Our Supreme Immunity formula contains FOS -low-calorie, non-digestible, short-chain fructooligosaccharides, which can be found in some fruits, vegetable and grains. After being consumed, FOS move to the large intestine, where they serve as food for good bacteria, supporting their growth and colonization of the GI tract. FOS also support the production of fatty acids, and maintain the growth of the intestinal epithelial cells the microflora balance in the colon2.* They selectively enhance the survivability and reproduction of probiotic strains in Supreme Immunity, supporting their beneficial effects on the immune system3.*
