Diosmin and hesperidin are flavonoids mainly found in the rinds of citrus fruits. Flavonoids are polyphenols, containing different types of glycosides that enhance their absorption; the flavonoids in our formula have pronounced antioxidant properties1-3.*
According to studies, diosmin and hesperidin are well-tolerated, and help to support venous wall health and normal capillary function, often resulting in a feeling of “lightness” in the legs4,5.*
Because diosmin has low solubility in water, it’s poorly absorbed. To increase its efficiency, the flavonoids in Supreme Veins have been purified and micronized, resulting in Micronized Purified Flavonoid Fraction (MPFF). The MPFF of Supreme Veins consists of 90% diosmin and 10% hesperidin. During micronization, the particle size of the flavonoid fraction is reduced from 37 µm < 2 μm, improving its absorption in the intestinal tract and bioavailability in body fluids.
Many preclinical and clinical pharmacological studies prove that micronized diosmin is more potent than pure diosmin.
